How Imposter Syndrome affects your productivity?

Waqar Ahmed | CEO The Productivity Science

Let’s be real everyone has their own share of good and bad experiences in life. It is the way life works. But that does not stand to bring any personal harm. Some people (mostly the majority of us) sometimes feel inside that there is something missing in this life, we think that we haven’t achieved something we always wanted to achieve. That feeling slowly grabs our mind’s energy into thinking that we might not be as competitive as one needs to be. And this thinking intensity takes us down the water slide and puts us in a bubble where insecurities completely take over on us. We start reevaluating the purpose of life and every conclusion that we make has everything but a positive hope about our future self.

This is what we call the Imposter Syndrome. Thinking about own self as an incompetent person or maybe out of league from the world capacity. To be honest, this definition narrowly addresses the actual experience that any person goes through who is facing Imposter Syndrome.

The first impact that any person with Imposter Syndrome feels is that he is continuously becoming a non-productive person in life, even though he might be doing great in others' eyes. It shows that a person with this condition finds everything incomplete and voluntarily puts oneself behind the shadowy glass.

Imposter Syndrome is nothing but a figment of mind that forces a person to believe in illusionary elements devoid of metaphysical world reality. But it is also true that this invisible foe is strong enough to shatter any person’s dreams and hard-earned success. When you don’t feel appreciated from the inside, no matter how much amount of recognition you get from outside the world, it would not be enough to bring back your peaceful sleep time. To feel good, one must find purpose within.

Self-doubt is sometimes healthy but when taken to the extreme, it could be harmful. Therefore, one must avoid getting into this vicious thinking loop. Always stand to the morals and live up to the feel-good factor in life. Appreciate the goodness in life and avoid any negative company that affects your mental and physical health. Start focusing on things that bring happiness and interact with those people who add value. Read a book that improves your thinking pattern. Falling down the trap of insecurities is normal but you just need to build a strong mental attitude that helps you cope up with that evil element.

If you think your life is not improving and you can’t get rid of negative thoughts, try to change your diets both physical and mental. Change the environment and talk to people who you believe will provide any kind of solution to this issue. Try living up the life and avoid wasting time on things that don’t bring happiness in life. Invest your free time in doing the art or even writing about your personal life. Listen to productive life podcasts and indulge yourself in books that you like reading the most. Find a hobby that brings calmness to your life.

"For the doubts and negativities to go down, you just need to focus on positive aspects that can add up to your mental belief about the possibilities to create happiness in life."

 Thank you for your company!

7 lessons I learned from the Al Chemist

Lesson #1:- Humans are tested with calamities and challenges to build a stronger intellectual ground where they can protect their lives and become able to create a better world for future generations.  Those who risked their lives and followed their dreams, they have got the victory. And those who did not risk, and played it safe,  merely stopped where they needed to start. Lesson #2:- Santiago in the search of his legend (true inner self) encountered challenges and a few close calls to death. In the search for treasure, he fearlessly bids on his life by selling his sheep to an old King joins a crystal shop in an unknown part of Africa, and finally embarks on the longest journey towards the Pyramids of Egypt.  His passion to find the unknown treasure based on his audacious belief in omens led him to overpower all the negative forces that could have stopped him from achieving his legend. Quote “If you believe in yourself worthy of the thing you fought so hard to get, t...

This is why evidence in conversation matters?

Here are a few big question marks? Why should one believe in storytelling when there’s little space for the question? Is it reliable what you're listening to? What is the truth? What makes a person qualified for any opinion? “The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.” – Carl Sagan The human thinking pattern relies on storytelling. As Yuval Noah Harari in his book “Sapiens” calls humans the social beings with close proximity to story beings. Humans communicate with each other through storytelling. It is an easier and more fun method to continue the conversation for a longer time. Sometimes, stories get to a certain level where the fine line between truth and false gets thinner. It becomes a hell sort of challenge to distinguish the words as true or false especially when it’s coming out of a person close to one in relations. Most of us grew up in an environment where many people could express their thoughts without any fear of being questioned. Age was considered ...

What is a Wasteman Loop & How to avoid it?

Waqar Ahmed | The Productivity Science What is a wasteman Loop? For the past few days, I have been doing a lot of social media surfacing without realizing the effects of it on my productive life. I was so indulged in social media scrolling, liking, and sharing weird cat posts that I never realized I was wasting more than 4 hours per day of my precious life. Being into some business where there is no return value or profit is what I call a wasteman loop. Every once in a while I return to this wasteman life and I have to push myself again to keep focused on the main objectives in life. This on and off productivity is what I call the loop. I’m constantly worried about two things to happen in my life, first, when I start wasting my time on social media or any other stuff that adds zero value to my life, second, the continuous fight with consistency to not return to wasteman life and still end up becoming the wasteman I loathe. How does it affect your productivity? Being a wasteman has...
