Over time we have built our consciousness through decisions and facing lots of troubles in life. Some people give up before their destiny, and others continue their journey despite all these troubles. The former chooses not to put extra effort because he thinks it’s already chosen for him, and the latter decides to not stop there because there is more he can do than simply give up. These are two different sorts of mindsets and we all know which mindset will find success. Surprisingly, these beliefs could be found in a single person’s brain at the same time. It is absolutely possible.
Before we jump to the
conclusion about why it happens, let’s discuss the science behind the choice of
these two specific mindsets.
The most important term in this
field of mindset is Neuroplasticity. The main function of neuroplasticity
or brain plasticity is to give permission to the neurons to change their
activity or momentum based on the input of intrinsic or extrinsic stimuli. When
neurons reformulate, they begin to transmit signals from one neuron to another
through synaptic transmission. The signal can also be called the thought of
humans. And the source of the change inside the neurons is stimuli, it's the purpose
you have taken and is now being transmitted through singles to your neurons.
The reason why neuroplasticity is
mentioned in this blog is to present to you scientific data which proves that
there is no such thing called “God-gifted talent.” The neurons react to the
thoughts a human feeds to them. Without positive thoughts, neurons cannot make a
positive change in the brain.
Therefore, the aim of this blog
is to prove to you that, it is completely upon us to change our life’s
direction by focusing on creating a growth mindset attitude. A growth mindset
believes in learning from every experience whether good or bad. On the other
hand, a fixed mindset believes that everything is already written, and nobody can
do anything against it.
Our brain is designed to behave
in a manner that fits the thoughts of a person. Without personal efforts for
learning, the brain no matter how precious as a resource, still can’t help change
your life.
Dr. Michael Merzenich suggests
that intelligence is a result of effort. No one is born with great intellectual
capacity. It has to be developed with practice and patience. He further suggests
that a brain grows faster when it faces any difficulty. In tough challenging
times, we learn more and grow smarter.
A child has no responsibility to the world; therefore, he has nothing to worry about. In contrast, an adult has comparatively harder activities in life to perform which is why the neural networking of an adult is stronger and dense than any child. These neurons can be trained with the growth mindset and the supportive surrounding environment.
This picture depicts the neural networking of all ages from a child to an adult. With age, the neurons grow and become stronger. This provides us enough evidence that brain is the product of thoughts and data that we constantly feed into it. Changes in neurons are simply a reaction to a person’s thoughts.
